Etang Beausoleil is a quiet secluded lake set in the gently rolling countryside in the Bretagne region of Northwest France, about an hours drive from the port of St Malo. Close by are the historic towns of Laval and Vitre which are surrounded by the magnificent natural beauty, which is Brittany.

The fishing for carp and catfish as with other specimen coarse fish is second to none, and yet if you need a break there is plenty to see around the area as it boasts a wealth of lakes and rivers among the natural forests and valleys.

Also there is gourmet cuisine to be enjoyed at the local restaurants, with museums, churches, manor houses and archaeological sites to visit. The sandy beaches of the Brittany coast are just over an hour away too!

You will have sole use of private lake and house and once you closed those gates it really does become a different world. The estate-type lake itself is set in ten acres of lovely managed grounds and boasts a fantastic variety of wildlife including kingfishers and red squirrels which abound on the island and around the lake itself. The lake has depths ranging from 2-10 feet with the weedy shallows being spanned by a wooden footbridge to the shady tree-covered island.

Etang Beausoleil is a tree-lined lake of four acres and is brimming with large carp and catfish, including many specimen coarse fish too. It boasts around half a dozen 40lb plus carp with the current best at 45lb with approximately 50 carp over the 30lb barrier. To top it off it also holds 200 20lb plus carp.

If that is not enough, there is also grass carp to 35lb, big-head carp to 70lb and catfish to 70lb of which there are around 50.

There can be no doubt why this lovely lake continues to capture the hearts of many anglers and their families because they just keep coming back. Once you have seen it, you will certainly realise why.
